Exercise and Understanding

I have been living with fibromyalgia for over three years now and am very much aware of how important it was for me to make certain lifestyle changes.
I found myself having to explain my condition to my family, friends and employer. Even with the aches and pains of my body; I choose to continue to work full-time. It helps that I have an employer that allows me the changes of work hours when I am going though my bad days.
I find that mornings are my worst time of the day; so what I have done is start a ritual for getting up in the mornings that entails a lot of meditation and gradual stretching of my body muscles. I also have continued to do my walking exercise, which seems to bring me a sense of peace mentally as well as physically. I also thank God for the help and understanding of my partner, who has been with me from the beginning of my diagnosis and who has shown me so much support throughout the years.
With the support of my partner, kids and friends I am very much aware of being alive and active with fibromyalgia. To others out there who have fibromyalgia; I say, have lots of love and faith in yourself mentally as well as physically, and remember to take it a day at a time, for someday there maybe a cure. I truly believe that—and so should you.
