The observance of National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, officially May 12, can take many forms. The 2010 theme, Make Fibromyalgia Visible, is the rally cry for fibromyalgia patients and supporters to make their collective voice heard. An estimated 700 people attended the flagship Awareness Day event held at California State University, Fullerton, which included educational seminars, a walk and wellness festival. Throughout the month of May, from Alabama to Australia, another 65 events were organized by local FM support groups. Many were driven by the passion of a single individual on behalf of a loved one living with fibromyalgia.
