Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III and Wife Frances Winfield Bremer give exclusive interview in newly released issue of Fibromyalgia AWARE

ANAHEIM, Calif---5 December 2007---The National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA) has released the newest issue of Fibromyalgia AWARE magazine, featuring an exclusive interview with Ambassador L. Paul Bremer and his wife, Frances Winfield Bremer.
Mrs. Bremer was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 25 years ago, shortly after contracting malaria while the couple was posted in Africa. Amb. Paul (Jerry) Bremer, who was appointed Presidential Envoy to Iraq in 2003 by President George W. Bush, is supporting his wife’s advocacy by making joint media appearances with her in the upcoming year. Married over 41 years, the Bremers hope to highlight how fibromyalgia affects the entire family, as well as the person with the chronic pain illness.
Husband and wife emphasize the unconditional support they give to and receive from one another during a challenging life lived mostly in the public eye. “I couldn’t have handled my job in Iraq without her,” notes Ambassador Bremer. She in turn adds, “Jerry is a wonderful husband, and he takes very good care of me. I’m glad I could be there for him, too.
“We are grateful to Ambassador and Mrs. Bremer for their willingness to share their very personal journey of living with fibromyalgia, and the importance of having a supportive caregiver and advocate,” said Lynne Matallana, president and founder of the National Fibromyalgia Association.
